Top 3 tips to center yourself when you’re stressed

Take a mini break

Sit up right in your chair and take 10 deep breaths. Concentrate on your breathing and follow your breath as you inhale and exhale. The extra oxygen pumping through your lungs has benefits as walking. Do this when you need a break or need to clear your mind.

Consider who and what you’ve been thinking about

What are you worrying about? Imagine that instead of expending needless energy, you’re pulling that energy back to you. Visualize removing your attention from everyone and everything. Call it back to you. Sit in the energy that you’ve reclaimed and imagine that it is replenishing you. Then, let it drain out of you into the earth.

Sometimes, we let our environments get toxic

For example, we have dozens of things going on all at the same time. Or we're working in the middle of a cluttered mess. Or people are talking over each other. In these conditions, it’s easy to get overstimulated and go into sensory overload and not know it. Try to identify elements in your work or home that are disruptive and remove them one by one.
